Knowledge And Wisdom

It is important to have both wisdom and knowledge, and it is arrogant to focus on gaining one while losing focus on the other. Doctor Gawande provides us an insight into not merely the knowledge he holds, but also the wisdom he processes. By intwining between memoir and the historical facts of senior care home, he shows us the extensive knowledge he has on the development of senior housing, long term care facility and on other minor topics. It it critical to be able to bring out the materials he knows and successfully made them known to readers, this is where his wisdom comes in. His wisdom is in his skillful way of presenting his ideas and wording his feelings, so that majority of the readers emotionally connect to every stories he told, so that we too would see medicine as more than a magic tool for every problem. His wisdom is in the way he writes of medical surgeries and procedures and people could understand it without attending medicinal school. One important concept he seems to make known is that death is one thing that would be ultimately acceptable and fully known by everyone, it is something we all face, no matter our education background or race or social standing when our knowledge and wisdom seem to fade. It is thus critical that we start facing death and talking about it with family and accept it as a general topic
