Psychology is the theoretical study of the human mind and the functions. Research in psychology requires the observation and analyzation, just like other scientific research. A psychologist focuses on one problem and collects data to analyze human mind from a certain angle. However, since it is the science that examines the mind and behavior, there are wide ranges of understanding the minds of the human. The scientific method of collecting data and drawing the conclusion out of it allows the researchers to pursue the goals of explaining and predicting some behaviors. However, the eventual goal of the psychological research is to explain in details why and how certain behaviors occur.
My mind is just blank and could not come up with specific feelings towards something tangible in my research so I will just talk about important principles to consider when carrying out a psychology research.
Since psychology is complex, human beings are the primary tangible principals for the research in the field of psychology. The subject “psychology” is very much made for people and done by people. Therefore, the participants (people) are always so important in the studies because the same experiment is done over and over again on several different participants, then the conclusion is drawn from the collected data. Without a human being, psychology would not have existed today and
so it is so hard to image a life without psychology. There are always reasons behind all the behaviors; life
without psychology would be logical but simple and probably
un-thrilling. That is why it is
interesting. The discipline of psychology changes as long as society varies and evolves.
In spite of "tangible" principal in the research, there are more important principles other than human beings that are “intangible”. The general ethical principles of respect, beneficence, and justice; are applied to the research with the human subject...
