How did you know what aspects of psychology to include in your book? How did you know when to connect these studies to your personal history with ADHD?
I spent about a year just reading everything I could about ADHD--this was when I was an adjunct at the University of Maryland, which has a great library--and afterwards I began to fit the historical/cultural narrative into the shape of the personal one, which I'd written extensively in graduate school.
